The Invitation of Jesus Christ

Since I was a child, I've been afraid of people.

Not because of trauma, not because of hatred.

But because I couldn’t understand them.

Their noises. Their demands. Their looks. Their games.

It was easier to be alone.

But solitude hurt.

Still, it hurt less than pretending to be someone I wasn’t just to be accepted.

Over time, I met some people who didn’t judge me.

People who didn’t demand anything in return.

People who gave me space to be silent, and still stayed by my side.

Among them, one Person stood out.

Someone who never left me.

Who never raised their voice at me.

Who never made fun of my way of being.

Who never forced me to socialize when I couldn’t.

His name is Jesus Christ.

He invited me to follow Him.

Not to change who I am, but to discover who I truly am.

In Him, I found peace for my anxiety.

I found light in my confusion.

I found rest in my tiredness.

And I found a voice that speaks softly to my soul.

Jesus doesn't reject autistic people.

He understands our silences.

He welcomes our struggles.

He embraces us just as we are, and walks with us toward who we’re meant to be.

His invitation is still open:

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

(Matthew 11:28)

I accepted this invitation.

And you?

Atypical World A.S.D. (Autism Spectrum Disorder): "Experiences, Reflections, and Meanings of an Autistic Adult"

In this space, I share my journey as an autistic adult, musician, public servant, and writer. Here, words translate the silence of the inner world and invite empathy, understanding, and open dialogue about autism, with respect and truth.
